Project: Isle of Boar - Pre-Concept Trailer

Isle of Boar is an Arthouse Nature/Horror film with a throwback to vintage creature-features! It is starring Z-Nation actor Russell Hodgkinson and we are in the process of raising money. This pre-concept will show our investors that our team can deliver the quality of filmmaking required to sell and distribute.

Actors will be considered for the role in the feature film,  HOWEVER we cannot promise they will be in the final production. After funding the film it is likely our investors will have the final say on cast.

Project: MAD HAT

This project will be shot across 2 days because of budget (two 12hr days). All sequences will be shot in Jacksonville, FL. Goal of this film is for distribution as well as exposure in film festivals.

Two criminals (father and son) attempt to leave town after a botched job in robbing a residence. Although they begin to face their own destructive nature head on which may lead to their own demise.

The story focuses on the subject matter of our fight with the flesh. (Romans 7:7-25, Galatians 5:16-21, Ephesians 2:3). The flesh will be personified to demonstrate in a visual representation the struggle we go through in fighting against our own earthly desires.

The "flesh" will be an actual person with a faceless mask (similar in stature and body type to each character) to magnify how real and difficult the fight can be.

Both characters (Reuben and Mel) struggle with thievery as well as also addiction to drugs and alcohol.

Asarai will be Reuben's love interest and represent one who fights the flesh with God's grace apart from human efftort.

Will be a PG-13 RATING.

Project: Chambers of the South

A low budget (NON UNION) full length Sci Fi adventure broken up into 15 minute chapters for my monetized YouTube channel and also will be submitted to DUST. This is a non paid project with a well written script. Can provide water and snacks. Filming will take place in Nevada City, Ca one hour drive outside of Sacramento in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. We have costumes for most but not all characters. We have props and models and most will be filmed on a green screen so bring your imagination with you. As the editor and VFX artist I will be using NUKE foundry, Unreal Engine 5.2.3, Houdini and DaVinci Resolve studio. I look forward to hearing from you and should start production by May when it stops raining.

We are looking at the classic good vs evil Sci Fi scenario that takes place within our Solar System. Earth is overran by a ruthless cult like practice that runs as a world government. The good guys have taken refuge in a secret hidden base on the moon right under their noses and some outposts on Mars. Lots of adventure, comedic relief and drama.

Project: Sacramento / Bay Area Indie Feature Film - Vital Shoots to Wrap Photography After Long Journey

The journeys we make are the journeys we take.

A 100% independent, full-length feature film that, aside from some select B-Roll material, has been entirely shot in the Sacramento, San Francisco Bay, El Dorado County and Placer County areas.  In fact, the story actually takes place in Sacramento, making it a true Northern California film that we hope you can rally behind.  For all you Bay Area folks, many people involved in the film also hail from your neck of the woods, with the producer / director himself having relocated to San Francisco during the long production process to be nearer to his now wife.  We need your support friends.  And you can have confidence that your support is truly going towards your local filmmaking communities.

Although this is a micro-budget production, it is a rather large scale project, having gained faithful cast, crew, contributors and support parties of more than 850 awesome people to date.  To tell its expansive story, there have been over 60 locations, ranging from beautiful wilderness to the past longtime home of the champion Golden State Warriors.  When considering the ambitious nature of the project, we've been quite fortunate throughout our very long journey to get this film where it is today.   Let's just chalk it up to a whole lot of stubborn minds, hard work, friendly faces, plain old luck and nimble adaptation to some fairly nightmarish situations.  Ahhhh, filmmaking!!!

A lot of people like to believe their production is something new and appealing.  We, the one studios crew, definitely feel we have something unique with Fight 4 Your Life. The project is an adventure; a fun-filled action-fantasy film containing not only aspiring sequences of "in-your-face" stylized action, but positive messages worthy of thought as well.  We care about an engaging and entertaining story first and foremost.  And there are many colorful characters in this movie that help develop such a story.  It's overall tone is gritty with a light-hearted touch, never taking itself too seriously.  This Yin and Yang can be felt during the dramatic, comedic and suspenseful elements guiding the film throughout its often fast-paced, yet, philosophical narrative.

The project has happened because of the community that supports it, believing in it from day one.  We've had our bumps and bruises but have remained diligent and focused, no matter the obstacles, much like the film's lead character.  Nothing worth anything comes easy.  We believe this and have instilled this mindset as we have carried on.  You will find nothing but transparency from us, regardless of the outcome being, or not being, beneficial to the project.  Honesty, respect and your time are very important to us.

Okay, okay.  So how far along are you guys really?

At the present, the film's original principal photography has long been completed.  We have been in post for quite a while now, having chipped away at the first cut during our extended production run, as well as during the long production slowdown of the pandemic.  During our initial editing, after our original principal photography, we found that several pickup shoots and new additions were needed to better support and push the story due to unforseen circumstances.  The majority of those shoots have been successfully achieved over the last (whoa) five + years, having overcome some tough challenges along the way....hence, the five + years.....Don't get us started.

We totally understand the red flags that might pop up when it's heard or read how long this project has been going on.  Yes, it's been a very, very long production.  We fully admit too long.  But please try to put yourselves in our shoes, just like we do our best to stay level-headed about the situation.  There are a ton of factors at hand, financially, schedule wise, resource wise, and, well, just plain life wise.  Many folks may see such factors as excuses.  Ouch!  Good points are to be made, many of which we'll agree with, believe it or not.  At the end of the day we're human and have done our best, even when our best has come up short.  We aren't going to attempt to defend the long timeline of this project or the tough decisions that have been made because, well, it's pointless.

Rather than try to explain the ups and downs, reasons and hurdles, which likely would just bore people to death, all we'll say is it's been extremely difficult and leave it at that.  But we've never stopped and won't stop until production is done.  We're not going for perfection here.  Our aim is to finish the story that's on the written page while maintaining a certain standard of quality.  It's as simple as that.

Cutting the story short would have ended this journey long ago, yes.  But it absolutely would also mean the story was not truly told.  It can be frustrating at times to still be working on the photography for this film.  But we're doing all we can to continually adapt in order to move forward, while also not sacrificing vital pieces of the story.

Hopefully, you don't judge us too harshly and are able to keep an open mind about this project.  The positives within us finishing far outweigh any negatives associated with how long it's taken.  We believe people will understand that in the end.  Film making isn't exactly easy, especially when it entails an ambitious project like this.

What was the turning point of the project?

July of 2019 saw us finally execute our long planned "ring shoots," which consisted primarily of capturing highly vital footage of a very important section of the film that takes place at a major event within the movie's story line.  These shoots were quite the challenge for our small, but fearsome crew, with the set being the largest to date that we've built, consisting of more than 250 feet of 25' high green screen and a full boxing ring layout that included a true crowd's worth of seating.

Murphy's Law definitely hit us hard.  Valuable lessons were learned.  But we pushed through and after a solid week of shooting we managed to successfully capture the majority of what was required.  Unfortunately, capturing the majority of what was required wasn't going to cut it.

After a much needed recovery period we set out to organize one final group of shoots to accomplish what we missed.  Then, just like those of so many other filmmakers, our plans were thrown out the window once the quarantine mandates were activated.  The positive is this gave us more time to prepare.  And prepared we did!

In June of 2021 we exectued our  "pickup ring shoots," which saw a solid turn out over the course of several dates of shooting that were laid out over three weeks.  Just like the 2019 "ring shoots," the "pickup ring shoots" were extremely taxing.  But our experience allowed us to make better decisions when it came to the set design, lighting and the time needed for set up and shooting.  It was a really hard period for the project, as it took months to actually get these shoots organized due to the pandemic lockdowns and such.  But, hey, we got it done.

Upon the "pickup ring shoots' " completion, we were left with some small pickup shoots to wrap up for the main story line in the film...pretty minimal.  We are currently in preparation to execute those shoots and plan to have them wrapped by January 2024.  However, our most demanding point of focus after the "pickup ring shoots" has been what we call our "Interludes."

The "Interlude" story line is the final story line to be finished in the overall film.   The "Interludes" are composed of characters not related to our long-engaged principal cast.  They dive deep into action, adventure and fantasy, promising to be quite a step away from what many fans of this project may expect.  Quick note...never think you know where this film goes, because you'll probably be wrong!...  These segments tell a story within a story, of sorts, and represent the absolute last chance to be a part of this production, in terms of casting.

When will the wrap date actually come?

As of December 2023 we are in the final stages of photography.  Our planned wrap date is in early March 2024.  For the next several months we will be working hard to complete the remaining material for the "Interludes," as well as any final pickups needed for the main storyline.

There are still various supporting and principle roles to be filled, many with substantial dialogue and/or action.  However, we are also casting for additional featured and background roles.  With this project's photography being in its final months, it's vital we finish strong.  Important story arcs are being told through the remaining scenes and sequences being shot.

We welcome you to join the fight!

For those of you willing to extend your involvement with the project, it would be good to note that many of the highlighted supporting roles and background roles available will allow for multiple appearances as different people.  In other words, we can use you more than once.....as long as we change you up accordingly, of course.

Not to over sell it, but playing such supporting and background roles is a great opportunity for those budding actors and actresses out there to gain experience on set, be seen and meet fellow film people.  Such roles are great for supporters of the arts just wanting to be a part of a film too, such as you retirees, movie buffs and friends and family of actors.  Even you more experienced folks will take value from what we have planned.  Remember, there are no small parts, only small actors!

We really need you for these shoots Sacramento, Bay Area and surrounding areas.  Friends, no matter how much time you can give...it all counts!  It's been a VERY long road.  And it's been a heck of a lot of work to get everything ready for this last stage...with a bunch of work still to do.  It's vital we get the participation numbers we need to properly sell the remaining scenes.

To the delight of many of you looking for, perhaps, a more demanding part, the "Interludes" contain several roles needing to be filled that possess not only ample lines, but major screen time.  Some of these roles call for demanding physical prowess as well.  So, all you martial artists, stunt people and athletes, come join the fight!  These roles will be posted soon.

We can't promise that the movie will win an Oscar....haha.  But we give you our word that it is a project that is getting completed and not another made up, "hopeful" project that crashes.  We've had our fair share of fender benders, but we're ok.  Hell, if we were going to quit we would have done it a long time ago....trust when we say that....considering we're so very close to wrapping.

The project will be worth your time, no matter how much you put in.  Although we remain realistic and humble, we're confident people are going to be surprised at what we've achieved when it's all said and done, no matter the opinions they may have on various aspects of the film.  But know we totally get you have to pick your projects wisely, especially those that are more pro bono based.  So, definitely, read up and ask us questions.  Again, transparency is huge for us.  We respect you, your efforts and your craft.  Thank you for your time and support.

It's been an adventure, a carefully plotted adventure...with a whole lotta unplanned side missions.  We hope you will finish it with us.

Join the fight!
